Earlier this year, I spent a couple of weeks in the Florida panhandle. During a weekend off, I headed out to NAS Pensacola and visited the National Naval Aviation Museum. I have to say, the Navy does it right when it comes to documenting history. Steeped in tradition and mission, they're a proud service. I remember when 'Top Gun' came out in the 80s and the wave of positive influence the movie had on my generation. From music to hair styles and attitude, it was all there. With 'Top Gun II' now being filmed, I hope it does the same for the upcoming generation of young Americans. If you ever have the chance to make it out to Pensacola to spend a good day walking around and learning about US Naval Aviation, you won’t be disappointed. Admission is free and well worth the time and drive out.
