The B-52G at the Seattle Museum of Flight is at the museum's Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Park. It's located behind the Aviation Pavillion across the street from the main buildings. A good place to reflect on many things aviation and otherwise. What's 'BUFF' stand for? There's a clean version and there's a not-so-clean version. When I first heard the term, it was the latter. Bottom line...it's an awesome aircraft still flying after 70 years of service.
Until 1992, all B-52s were assigned to Strategic Air Command, a MAJCOM I served two tours in during my Air Force career. If there was one thing that SAC had you aware of, it was standards. High standards - and there were no gray areas when it came to guidance and regulations. AF Global Strike Command should've adopted the SAC Shield when it was established as that would've been a great nod to the heritage of its mission. ~
